The Silver Band
The Silver Band is a group of talented musicians out of Los Angeles.
As individuals, they have been performing professionally for many years. From Mike, who is a born and bred Angelino, to Linda who hails originally from New York, Don from Oregon, Carmen from Kentucky, and Cathy from Indiana, the band came together in West Los Angeles over the love of the retro sound and roots rock and pop. "Even our new originals sound like they were poprock 60s hits," says Silver's Linda.
Silver also treats their audience to some fun covers, not ones you hear day in and day out, but those that take full advantage of the singing capabilities and musical stylings of the band.
From melodic three-part harmonies to a little bit of soul with a dash of pop, rock, blues and rockabilly, a night out with Silver is a night of fun for all.
Silver is available for events, clubs, festivals, private parties, corporate functions.

Originally from the New York metro area, Linda started playing guitar and piano at age 11. At 13, she founded her first band -- all girls! "They didn't quite know what to do with us. We were quite the anomaly back then." After performing professionally with Time Being for over four years in venues holding up to a few thousand, she put the guitar away and didn't take it out again until 2013. "What was I thinking? " She is getting such joy from playing and performing again. Linda started Silver in 2014 and does most of the songwriting for the band. Her tunes are very catchy. You'll find you can't help but sing along. "Come on out to see us. Would love to meet you!"
An 'Angeleno' his entire life, Mike has been playing music for more than 50 years and performing for over 40, with a brief 15 year hiatus to bring up his kids. Classically trained, 'Da Ripper' plays keyboards, guitar, bass and for some unknown but probably bizarre reason, French horn. Mike has been part of the LA music scene since the seventies, playing with many bands including Chivas Rox, The Vomit, The New Dixie Cowboys, and The Old Johnsons (where he played under the moniker of 'Stanky'). As Musical Director for Silver, Mike is a maniac on the keys. Although not currently under indictment, he is almost certainly under surveillance, which has made getting pictures of him far too easy.
Carmen was born in LA but grew up in Louisville, KY and Washington, D.C. She started singing at five, began performing in high school, and graduated from UCLA with a degree in theater. She toured as a featured singer/dancer with Burt Bacharach and Anthony Newley; and performed on TV with Jermaine Jackson. She recorded a gospel single as a member of Embrace, The Group; and performed with the girls cover group, The Voices of the Supremes. Carmen is also a TV/Film actor, and a children’s musical theater director. Her optimistic motto is, “If you can see it, it can happen!”
Cathy
Don
Bass
Drums
Hailing from Indiana, Cathy was raised in the hometown of the Jackson 5. She's lived in California her adult life, but still considers herself "a midwestern girl." With a lifelong love of music, she put her dream aside while raising the kids. Then, Cathy's family got her Rock Band for Christmas, thinking she would stick with playing the “drums” a few months at most. Five years, multiple drum kits, countless cymbals and many drum camps later, her passion for the instrument is stronger than ever. Along with Silver, Cathy has held down the beat for local southbay groups such as The Go Band, The Feature Presentation Band, Dirty Glitter and The Martin Diener band. Her set list ranges from Johnny Cash to Devo and everything in between.
Don began his musical career in Oregon. He grew up during the dawn of television. Every Sunday night, it was Bonanza and the Lawrence Welk show. As a kid of eight or so, he was fascinated by the flash, glitter and magic of Myron Floren's accordion. "I had to have one." By the time he was 15, Don was a stand-on-the-stage, on-his-own, concert-quality player. "Everyone was impressed... except the chicks!" In 1972, Don switched to the bass. Since then, both sides of his career have benefited. "I believe a bass player should be heard, but not noticed. Less is more in the bass world far as I'm concerned. Playing in 'the pocket' with a good drummer is as good as it gets."
